The Design
This crochet hat pattern features a clean ribbed texture and a classic fold-over brim that offers a minimalist style. Subtle ribbed striping outlines the mirrored short row quadrants for a “barely there” decorative detail.

Fit + Sizing
The Timeless Toque has a classic fit, with a stretchy, 1x1 knit-like ribbed texture for the body.
Hat can be made in 3 sizes—size 1(size 2, size 3) —and is designed to fit head of an average adult with head circumference between approximately 19-24" (48-61 cm). Due to ribbed design, hat is very stretchy width-wise, and will stretch to fit many heads.
Size | Head Circum. | Hat Circum. |
Size 1 | 19-20" (48-51 cm) | 14" (36 cm) |
Size 2 | 21-22" (53-56 cm) | 16" (41 cm) |
Size 3 | 23-24" (58-61 cm) | 18" (46 cm) |

Materials
As written, you'll need category 4 worsted weight yarn (9 wpi) in the amounts of:
219(254, 289) yds [200(232, 264) m]
Gauge
24 sts x 29 rows = 4" (10 cm)
I used WeCrochet Swish (pictured in the color Squirrel Heather).
Other materials you'll need:
7 (4.5 mm) crochet hook
tapestry needle
scissors
st markers (optional)
Yarn
The yarn I used, WeCrochet Swish is a 100% superwash merino wool. You could easily substitute many worsted weight yarns (or some DK weight) for this pattern. The wpi is 9, so feel free to use that + the gauge to determine if the yarn you plan on substituting is a good fit. You can also check out Yarn Sub. I recommend making sure you make a gauge swatch. Small differences in gauge can lead to big differences in project outcome. For more on gauge, you can read this blog.
