The Design
This crochet hat pattern features a 1 x 1 ribbing style, mirrored short rows, and a playful decorative bobble stitch detail along the fold-over brim.
Forgo the bobbles for a super basic, classic beanie.

Fit + Sizing
The Abide Beanie has a classic fit, with a 1x1 knit-like ribbed texture for the body.
Hat can be made in 5 sizes—size 1(size 2, size 3)(size 4, size 5) —and is designed to fit head of an average adult with head circumference between approximately 20-24" (51-61 cm). Due to ribbed design, hat is moderately stretchy width-wise.
Size | Head Circum. | Hat Circum. |
Size 1 | 20" (51 cm0 | 14.5" (37 cm) |
Size 2 | 21" (53 cm) | 16" (41 cm) |
Size 3 | 22" (56 cm) | 17.5" (44 cm) |
Size 4 | 23" (58 cm) | 19" (48 cm) |
Size 5 | 24" (61 cm) | 20.5" (52 cm) |

Materials
As written, you'll need category 4 worsted weight yarn (9 wpi) in the amounts of:
263(291, 311)(338, 356) yds [240(266, 284)(309, 326) m]
Gauge
24 sts x 22 rows = 4" (10 cm)
I used WeCrochet Swish (pictured in the color Serrano).
Other materials you'll need:
G-6 (4 mm) crochet hook
tapestry needle
scissors
st markers (optional)
Yarn
The yarn I used, WeCrochet Swish is a 100% superwash merino wool. You could easily substitute many worsted weight yarns (or some DK weight) for this pattern. The wpi is 9, so feel free to use that + the gauge to determine if the yarn you plan on substituting is a good fit. You can also check out Yarn Sub. I recommend making sure you make a gauge swatch. Small differences in gauge can lead to big differences in project outcome. For more on gauge, you can read this blog.
