The Design—Crochet Sweater Pattern
This oversized crochet sweater features a modern stylized ribbed texture inspired by nature — creating a chic yet casual and polished yet practical cozy fall sweater. It will definitely become a go-to piece in your cold-weather wardrobe.
The sweater is constructed side-to-side by making two panels—a front and back panel, then seaming them together at the shoulders and sides. Then, adding the collar and sleeves.

Fit + Sizing
The Perennnial Pullover has a comfortable oversize fit. It features a straight body, long tapered sleeves shaped by short rows, and 1x1 knit-like ribbing along the bottom hem, cuffs, and fold-over collar. Bottom hem and cuffs are worked into the panels and sleeves while the collar is applied. Sizing is based on Craft Yarn Council's standards.
It is designed to have a positive ease of 10-12" (25-30 cm). To select your size, measure your bust and find the garment circumference in the chart that matches approximately 10-12" (25-30 cm) larger. If you prefer to have more or less ease, select the garment circumference that reflects that number in inches compared to your measured bust in inches. I have a 34" bust and am wearing a size small for 10" of ease.
Size | Bust Circum. | Garment Circum. |
XS | 28-30" | 40" |
S | 32-34" | 44" |
M | 36-38" | 48" |
L | 40-42" | 52" |
XL | 44-46" | 56" |
2XL | 48-50" | 60" |
3XL | 52-54" | 64" |

Yarn
The yarn I used is WeCrochet Swish Worsted with a wpi of 9 and consisting of 100% fine superwash merino wool. When/if substituting yarn, make sure you make a gauge swatch. Small differences in gauge can lead to big differences in project outcome. For more on gauge, you can read this blog. You can also use yarnsub.com to help you find substitutions.
