The Design
The Sedona Pullover was inspired by the warm + earthy colors of a desert sunset. It's the perfect sweater for any casual occasion and features an oversized fit, cropped length, extra long and comfy straight sleeves, and knit-like ribbing. I can also imagine it being dressed up slightly with a pair of relaxed dress pants, white sneakers, and gold jewelry for a day of shopping or leisurely work at the coffee shop.
The sweater is constructed bottom-up by making a front and back panel and seaming them together at the shoulders and sides. Then, the neckline ribbing and bottom hem ribbing are added using the perpendicular method. And finally, the sleeves are added to the armholes and topped off with the sleeve ribbing (using the same method as the neckline and bottom hem).
Fit + Sizing
The Sedona Pullover has an oversized cropped, boxy fit, with a crew style neck and extra long, straight sleeves. Sizing is based on Craft Yarn Council's standards. Notes for customizing the length and/or width are noted along the way.
It is designed to have a positive ease of 10-12". To select your size, measure your bust and find the garment circumference in the chart that matches approximately 10-12" larger. If you prefer to have more or less ease, select the garment circumference that reflects that number in inches compared to your measured bust in inches.

About The Yarn
The yarn I used, WeCrochet Upcycle Alpaca Blend is labeled as a category 4 worsted weight yarn, but I would consider it closer to a DK. Most true worsted weight yarns will be much too dense and thick for this project. Many DK weight alternatives should work. Also note this yarn is a bit inconsistent/rugged in thickness (notice the slight variation in thickness of the stripes in the photos). Some skeins/colors are thicker or thinner than others, so if choosing to make a solid color in this yarn, gauge could be severely impacted. This is due to the fact that this is an upcycled yarn made from recycled fibers left over from the yarn spinning process, so as little fiber as possible goes to waste. I recommend making sure you make a gauge swatch. Small differences in gauge can lead to big differences in project outcome. For more on gauge, you can read this blog.
I absolutely loved working with this yarn, so the inconsistent thickness did not bother me, but I felt this additional information was necessary information to note.
